The Challenge

We will be exposing Restful-APIs that relate to Avery beer, taproom, etc. data. You bring whichever device/SDK/creative mindset or skillset you have and create a tool, application, or whatever your heart desires and pitch it to a room full of developers, creatives, brewers, and more.

Working Mission Statement:

Let’s combine a few of our favorite things: beer, code, and competition. Avery Brewing Co. and Mondo Robot are proud to present the first IPAs & APIs Hackathon. Just your team, your brains, and the potential to win developer glory and an untold amount of free Avery beer. All proceeds will benefit Women Who Code, a non-profit organization that inspires women to excel in technology careers.  

Avery Brewing Co. has expanded their operations with a new brewery, restaurant, and taproom. Not only have they debuted some kick-ass beers, but they’ve also invested in some serious technology. Think connected beer taps, robust beer data and smart assembly lines.

We want you, our hometown community, to join us in this challenge of bringing beer and technology together in ways that have never been done before. And did we mention that Avery will be brewing up a variety of special IPAs just for this event that will make us all feel like winners in our code-induced comas?

The event is BYOD(evice), BYOSDK, BYOAPI, BYO-everything except the beer and food, we’ve got you covered there. There are no limitations on the type of technology you decide to use. Code in teams or as an individual. We will be providing the Avery APIs, beer photos, 3D assets and more – you are free to create whatever you like. We want to keep this as open-ended as possible, so let the creativity flow.

To enter the Hackathon, visit the Hackathon website located at www.ipasandapis.eventbrite.com, (“Hackathon Site”) during the Hackathon Period and submit your entry fee and required registration details.

You may enter as an individual or as a team of up to four (4) people. You must include all participants who created the Solution on your team.

During the Hackathon Period, Avery Brewing Co., its agents and/or the Judges (defined below) will be evaluating each Solution to ensure that it meets the criteria listed below. Avery Brewing Co. reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant who submits a Solution that does not meet the criteria.

LIMIT ONE (1) ENTRY PER PERSON/TEAM. Subsequent entries will be disqualified. All entries must be received by 6:00 p.m. (MT) on 06/11/2016. Entries are void if they are in whole or part illegible, incomplete, damaged, altered, counterfeit, obtained through fraud, or late.
